In fiscal 20 14-15 the Aizu-Wakamatsu Rotary Club celebrated its thirtieth anniversary.
As a commemorative event to mark the occasion, on Sunday, March 29 the club held a special performance of modern-day Kumi Odori (traditional Ryukyuan dancing) at the Aizufugado hall. The performance, which was titled "Ibuki'- Nanzan Gimin Kishiro-den" (The Tale of Kishiro the Righteous), was aimed at raising spirits and supporting reconstruction.
Through the musical about Aizu's historical hero, performed by elementary, junior high, and senior high school students in Aizu, the organizers wished to deliver smiles, strength, and hope to victims of the disaster. On the day of the performance, the event was attended by the mayors of Aizu-Wakamatsu and Okuma, who made congratulatory addresses. More than 1,300 people filled Aizufugado hall, right up to its second floor, and the performance was a huge success.

The staff members of the Okuma municipal government cooperated in distributing the handbill to all households in Aizu-Wakamatsu.
