Results of the 8th Fukushima Prefecture Radiation Monitoring Mesh Survey
(Conducted between May 13th and June 10th of 2015)
A Map of the Space dose Rate of Fukushima Prefecture Based on the Results of the 8th Fukushima Prefecture Radiation Monitoring Mesh Survey In the first survey conducted, 80.8% of the area was recorded at more than 0.2μSv/h. However, in the 8th survey, that area had been reduced to 20.7%. In the case of the number of measurement points registering a measurement of 1.0μSv/h or more were reduced from 396 point in the first survey (22.3%) to 32 points (1.1%) in the 8th survey.

Additionally, the average space dose rate for all measurement points was reduced from 0.67μSv /h in the first survey to 0.17μSv/h in the 8th survey.

(Reference) In 2010, the space dose rate of the prefecture before the nuclear accident (naturally occurring levels of radiation) was 0.02 - 0.13μSv/h (1m from the surface).
