Out of a desire to bring back smiles to the faces of children, the RID 2530 Community Service Committee wanted to give youngsters the opportunity to play outdoors without any worries about radiation. After careful consideration, it hit upon the idea of enabling children and their parents to reduce their stress by having fun in the snow at the Inawashiro ski resort near Mount Bandai, where there was little radiation exposure and no need for anxiety. The committee therefore invited kindergarten and nursery children in the RID 2530 First North Group, Second North Group, Central Group, and South Group, together with their parents, to enjoy sleigh rides in the snow.
