March 12 (Saturday) Reports of hydrogen explosion at the nuclear power station.
District Governor Hiroji Ohashi convenes secretary meeting; relief support council meets.

March 13 (Sunday) Some districts in Fukushima Prefecture recommend residents to stay indoors or evacuate.
Safety of past governors, assistant governors, and Rotary members confirmed.
Training seminar of club presidents-elect (PETS), scheduled to be held on March 13, cancelled due to the disaster.

March 14 (Monday) Meeting of top three officials (governor, district secretary, district assistant secretary)
Consultations on support regime held with Director Hisao Ota of the Japanese Red Cross Society Fukushima Chapter.
Procurement of 100,000 masks for distribution at evacuation centers Request received from Soma-Futaba Group Assistant Governor Yoshiyuji Imamura for necessary material assistance to evacuation centers.
International exchange students transported by car to Narita Airport to return to their own countries.

March 15 (Tuesday) 100,000 masks delivered to the Japanese Red Cross Society Fukushima Chapter as emergency relief.
Masks and gasoline procured for the Soma-Futaba Group.
Chairman Yoshimori Sakai of the RID 2530 Club Service Committee visits the governor's office to report on disaster conditions.
Governor Mariko Yoneda of RID 2640 Osaka North offers assistance of blankets and other items, which is received in Aizu-Wakamatsu on March 19 (Governor Yoneda arriving in Fukushima in a 10-ton truck).

March 16 (Wednesday) Reports received from clubs elsewhere in Japan that although they have material support ready for transport, transportation companies are refusing to deliver it to Fukushima Prefecture for fear of radiation exposure.

March 17 (Thursday) Destinations for material support and bank account number for donations posted on website.
Request received from Akashi Nishi Rotary Club wishing to send medical supplies by air," Past Governor Michio Ajito asked to help.
Immediate Past Governor Takashi Nakazawa and Immediate Past District Secretary Kyushi Hoshi notified that in order to deliver relief supplies from Osaka to the evacuation center in Aizu-Wakamatsu on March 19, they need to be transferred to a Fukushima truck on the way.
